Hello!
I’m Kelley; a wife, a mom, and an educator. My background is in Communicative Disorders and I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I have worked as a Speech Therapist, but I’m currently working as a Developmental Therapist.
I am fortunate enough to work with kiddos every day aged birth to 3 who have developmental delays. I love doing home visits and working with families. You will get to know me a little bit better through my blogs.
I use lots of humor (and some sarcasm) as I also do with my families. I try to create a relaxed environment and find that silliness and poking fun at myself helps create great relationships with “my kids” and their parents. I remind parents and caregivers that none of us are perfect.
We all want the best for our children and are doing the best we know how. I show up to give suggestions, strategies, and support to my amazing families who often times become wonderful friends.
This tells a little bit about the name My Umbrella Day.
